I read the Parenting Passageway regularly, along with Waldorf Mama and Soule Mama I don't seem to come up with any specific ideas there We do play dough, drawing with crayons, water play and free time, but it's a long

Montessori and Vaccine Issues | Mothering Forum Here goes: I couldn't send my son to a terrific Waldorf school BECAUSE some parents don't vaccinate I know he is a very rare medical type, but heck, this is our life and it hurts to be regarded as some freakish medical anomoly The reason is, he has a compromised immune system plus is allergic to one of the components of some vaccines
Can someone lay out the nuts and bolts of anthroposophy. . . For example, what my daughter experienced in 1st grade at a waldorf school and what my granddaughter is experiencing in 1st grade at a waldorf school are quite different, although there are some things which are similar They both learned to knit, but the projects are different and how the teacher has taught knitting has been different

Substitute for Mr. Potato Head | Mothering Forum Waldorf dolls are lovely, but what I've seen sold as a Waldorf doll in the past decade is actually VERY different from what Rudolf Steiner recommended as a doll for a three-year-old Steiner's idea of a doll for a young child was basically a knotted hanky with some dots drawn on in ink for eyes
What is it about anthroposophy that is vital to Waldorf. . . You know, I'm starting to think that my criticisms of waldorf in general would be more about the elitism of a private institution vs the anthroposophy issue I tend to imagine Steiner in the old cigar factories with working class people and it makes me think that the whole big picture of waldorf education was a lot different than it is now
