What is the first city you normally go to (after Whiterun)? : r skyrim The main quest takes us over to Ivarstead, so I usually pass through and make my way to Riften (mainly to swap out Sven for Inigo) After that, I do some stuff in Darkwater and other areas, visit Windhelm just to discover it, and head back to Whiterun to join the Companions
