Anyone getting good accuracy out of TAC in 223? - AR15. COM TAC is my base powder in 223, and it’s the first powder I try when testing a new bullet It can give fantastic velocity all of the time and great accuracy some of the time In 223, there is typically a 2 gr window in the 5 56 pressure range when SD’s will be single digits
Ramshot TAC and 62 gr projectiles gt; Reloading gt; AR15. COM CCCu Gold Dot bullets over TAC in new #41 primed LC brass are plenty fast enough for hunting or SD HD if need be And they are both very accurate Same with the heavier weight bullets such as the 70GR TSX, 75GR Gold Dot, 77GR TMK which I also load over 5 56MM NATO pressure TAC Accuracy MV with TAC has been very good in barrels for 10
Best powders for particular grain ranges of bullets in 223 556 - Your . . . TAC throws with SD = 0 014 gr, however, this low dispersion of charge weight does not show up as low dispersion in muzzle velocity (VBarget has lower MV SD than TAC) The accuracy and SD numbers given above are for large sample tests (# of samples, n>20, typically about 100 samples)
Stick with CFE223 or get some TAC for 55gr FMJ - AR15. COM TAC and 80 gr bullets has become my fast match load Throw 23 5 gr of TAC with a Rem 71 2 behind a Sierra or Nosler 80 works remarkably well in every AR and 1 7 twist bolt action I have tried it in My wife's gun loves it 2230 is one of my favorites for 50 to 69 gr bullets Would probably be my first choice, but I voted for 335 of those listed
{55 grain} PMC X-Tac vs IMI M193 gt; Ammunition gt; AR15. COM What I found out about X-Tac is that rapid firing those rounds (in same benchmark) opened up the groups to nasty MOA of 4 5" (at least in that test) While slow firing presented best group Winchester M193 was the worst spread in slow firing out of that batch
Ramshot Tac and . 223 gt; Reloading gt; AR15. COM I've used TAC, mostly with Sierra and Hornady bullets in the 65-75 grain range in Colt 1 in 7" barrels Flows well through a measure and generally provides good accuracy, but I've usually found H4895 will make at least slightly more accurate loads Of course, H4895 doesn't go through a measure quite as well as TAC
Hornady 62gr FMJ w Ramshot TAC 5. 56 load suggestions? - AR15. COM TAC is my favorite, as it meters perfectly in my old RCBS Uniflow measure After trying a number of charge weights, I have settled on 24 5 gr as what has been most consistent It also is easy on the brass
68gr Hornady BTHP 5. 56 load data gt; Reloading gt; AR15. COM AA 2460, Tac, 2230, all 3 will get want you want AA's website has all the info you want for 62,00psi loads, Ramshot Tac and 2460 looks like the best, and maybe 2230 for a shorter barrel For 223 pressured rounds 2230 is hard to beat, 2015 for lighter bullets is perfect But for NATO rounds
