Discussion - Smash for Switch 2 - Speculation Discussion II If Smash 6 cuts characters, that probably means that a bunch of the veterans will probably end up as DLC Then there's also the posibility of them diping on already represented series as DLC, like they did with Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy and Xenoblade in Ultimate DLC

Discussion - Smash for Switch 2 - Speculation Discussion II As for the next Smash, i think it's likely that the game has started development somewhere in 2025, not sure when exactly, probably between August-October if i have to guess when aproximately Smash 4 and Ultimate were made in 2 years, so we're probably looking at a 2027 release if it started development this year

Usually they only reuse assets for stages, music, trophies, and Poke Balls Fighters, items, and ATs usually have new models made for Smash specifically, but for whatever reason Min Min and Pythra reuse their models from their home games
