NAM Hyper Accuracy Captures - The Gear Page I ran NAM with very high epoch counts and I've even manipulated advanced training parameters to introduce even more detail to the tone This NAM set features a 2840 KB complex capture (Slammin Plexi Cranked 7 2000E Complex) and two standard mode captures with the usual 290 KB size and 1500 2000 Epochs respectively for comparative purposes
Digging Marshall sounds in HX stomp | The Gear Page I have a Marshall 1959HW right next to the stomp I'm going back and forth and getting that plexi thing coming through the stomp - the real plexi is going through a Marshall 2x12 1936 cab (V30 and 12H) and the HX is going thru the fender F12 FRFR - very happy about this - I tweaked the different plexis forever on the FM9 -Maybe that's the problem?
Sv20 or ceriatone all access - The Gear Page The Ceriatone is going to be better quality, easier to work on mod, and possibly more versatile (this is debatable because IME Plexi amps with lots of features options and a MV are often not actually as versatile as a simple, stock Lead spec Marshall that does what Plexi’s do best, which is clean up with the guitar vol and respond to picking
Explain how the Plexi tone is different from the JCM 800 tone I relate the Plexi tone to a big fat clear open tone somewhat like others mentioned early in the thread (like my Super 100JH) - not so much the Plexi tone of a 1987x stock with the 4700pf bright cap creating some serious distortion and treble in the upper left input (I removed the bright cap and it's now great to me - 100pf is good too)
Diodes + a Plexi. . . - The Gear Page My theory is i can use the Plexi for most classic rock up through to early VH style stuff then kick in the diodes and a GE-7 to get more Slash level RAWK tones the other option I’m considering is the Ceriatone AFD 35, so if anyone has any experience with those pls chime in
Help getting started with amp sims (Neural Amp Modeler Amalgam profiles) Check out slamminmofo's neural amp head capture for guitar, bass and recording: Try the Plexi Cranked 7 2000E Complex for the most accurate cranked EQ lead channel volume at 7 Plexi capture out there, if your audio workstation can handle it It is far more demanding on your hardware than
MASSIVE PLEXI TONES in a COMPACT HEAD! - The Gear Page Volume-wise, it's still going to be very loud to get the good stuff A PPIMV, if present, will present the same compromises as they do on any other Plexi-style amp And, people who don't understand how Plexi-style circuits work will complain about the lack of an effects loop, and not accept the explanations provided by Suhr or by Pete Thorn
The (super unofficial) Softube Amp Room Marshall Amp . . . - The Gear Page Like trying the plexi or blues breaker amps with some of the smaller or open back cabs (the blues breaker and 1974cx cabs being my favorites) and get way different shades and tones that way The vintage suite is also really good, but a different thing (black and silver fender, vox and hiwatt)
Whats with all the Plexi pedals that sound nothing like a Plexi? Over the years I've bought a bunch of "Plexi" pedals that have sounded nothing like a Plexi Latest example, I picked up a $30 Mosky Plexi-M pedal based on some pretty good reviews I plugged it in and was a little disappointed to find that instead of sounding like a Plexi, it sounded more like a Metalzone
Best Tonex Captures? - The Gear Page The Amp Gems Friedman Plexi DI set is also just next level stuff: great sounding amp, great captures, and there's 129 of them for $25, which is a crazy great value If you're into Marshall Plexi tones, that's top of the tone heap for me
