  • Orion ST80 vs Celestron Skymaster 25x100 - forums. space. com
What would you suggest buying for 1st time novice beginner ? Orion ST80 ( telescope ) or Celestron Skymaster 25x100 ( binoculars ) ?? Which will give better coverage for sky, better further images clear bigger images I heard it is better to buy a binoculars than a telescope 1st
  • Hidden NASA ESA code - Orion parachute (prelaunch Artemis)
In a recent pre-launch video that explained the detail of the Artemis mission, I found a hidden code in the Orion module parachute When decoded it reads “Eiffel Tower” - this is a nod to the ESA who is a significant contributor to NASA’s Moon mission
  • What can i see with a 10 dobsonian - Space. com Forums
I use a 90-mm refractor telescope (since 1991) and an Orion XT10i mounted on a dobsonian (since 2018) Easy to compare the views The 10-inch Newtonian reflector shows brighter images and fainter targets than my 90-mm refractor telescope and I see more moons at Saturn in the 10-inch vs 90-mm refractor
  • Question - How do stars form? | Space. com Forums
"Where can we see the birth of stars?" A good question in my thinking is asked here My answer, the most common locations are giant molecular gas clouds like M42 in Orion are tossed around in the literature and reports However, *see* is the problem No astronomers observe or *see* a gas cloud contradict into a ZAMS plot on the H-R diagram Many different observations are compiled to interpret
  • What are the Orion astronauts doing these days? - Space. com Forums
Those poor astronauts who trained on Orion so many years ago must be getting tired of waiting to launch I don't read much about them Anyone know what they are up to?
  • Starship is the lander for Artemis. Something doesnt add up.
I don't think Gateway is made obsolete by Starship, although it should be redesigned from the ground up to use Starships capacity, and Orion is important because Starship likely isn't going to get human-rated any time soon But you're right It's weird that NASA requires Starship for Artemis, yet doesn't take full advantage of it
  • Orions Belt - forums. space. com
Orion's Belt replied to the thread That giant sunspot that supercharged auroras on Earth? It's back and may amp up the northern lights with June solar storms It would be helpful if contributers appreciated the extent of their global audience
  • Orion Min-EQ - forums. space. com
I found a used Orion Min-EQ Any suggestions on what is the largest proper telescope that can be mounted on it? New to telescopes and astronomy Mahalo for your help Dexter
  • Suggestions for personal telescope - Space. com Forums
COLGeek, that is a healthy budget Orion makes good telescopes, I use an Orion XT10i, cheaper than your limit but reflector on a Dob mount and about 60 lbs when setup TeleVue refractors are excellent too but TeleVue currently is closed because of COVID-19 lock up (I received e-mail notification 21-March) Quite a few shops are closed too, non-essential business it seems Some still ship online
  • Question - Are new stars being born. . . | Space. com Forums
Terra Australis, the question was asked *Are new stars being born * Cosmology and astronomy today is committed to the BB model so the answer must be *yes* New stars form all the time because of gas clouds and gravitational potential energy in the gas clouds (M42 in Orion is an example) According to the BB model, cosmic high noon star formation took place where we see objects today with
