How to use 啊? - Grammar, Sentence Structures and Patterns - Chinese-Forums Hi, I'm self teaching Chinese Most of my learning materials are online I've noticed that the character 啊 has been used quite a lot in the conversations (usually at the end of the sentence) The funny thing is that the lessons never mentioned about how when to use it Currently I'm at lesson 24

cynical = 犬儒? - Vocabulary, idioms, word lists . . . - Chinese-Forums I thought cynical cynicism was 犬儒 but then some people told me nobody uses this term in normal conversation and many native speakers don't even know what it means So is there a more common term for "cyncial"? also, sarcastic = 讽刺? irony = 反讽?
就 vs 就是 (emphasis usage) - when to use 是? I'm currently studying the various uses of 就 - in particular, I'm up to its usage for emphasis, where 就 + verb is used (e g 我就不听, 你说什么? I just can't hear, what did you say?) The Chinese Grammar Wiki article lists the word order as being 就 + (是) + verb, but doesn't clarify when 是 should be used
Can you have a conversation in Chinese without ever using a question . . . Learning Chinese as well as about the culture can be challenging I am working through HSK4 and I feel that Chinese native speakers (in regards to communication) don't need to use questions to make a conversation Many times there will be rhetorical questions but not other types Sometimes there
