QT new fish from LFS copper system - Fish Forum - Nano-Reef Community Yes QT Unless they haven't added new fish in 2 weeks to the tank always QT If they add a fish who might be sick 1 day or even one week before you pick up the new fish it could become infected again I have 2 fish in QT who were at 2 different LFS for over a month in copper I am still QTing just to keep my other fish safe

LFS display tanks - General Discussion - Nano-Reef Community It depends I guess If there's 1-2 dead fish out of dozens of tanks then I don't worry too much If there's 1-2 dead fish in almost every tank then I leave My closest LFS gets livestock in on Wednesdays so I pretty much only pick stuff up on the weekend Then I know it has made it 3-4 days and the sick ones have probably kicked the bucket already
Alternatives to LFS RODI - Nano-Reef Community Mad question I know but ICE whereby you arent able to get to your LFS for RODI what household alternatives can you use for topping off your tank? Off the top of my head: dehumidifier water tumble drier water (both are effectively impure distilled water) can you use water from a Brita filter jug? What other alternatives can people think of?
LFS Owner Says YOU ARE ALL WRONG! - Nano-Reef Community I bet your LFS are a lot like theses forums, if you go to three different LFS they will all tell you something a bit different This guy has been doing it for 20 years or so I bet he is just set in his ways Even though a lot has changed over the last 20 years This doesn't mean he is wrong but he is just very opinionated
LFS Water - Beginners Discussion - Nano-Reef Community thanks for the fast reponses guys yeah its dark and its sitting in a dark area i think the sg is a litle high from the store anyways its about 1 026 i am about a week into my cycle just waiting for the ammonia spike to finish its so hard haha
Ordering a fish through my LFS - Nano-Reef Community I'm guessing this LFS gets their shipment early in the morning before they even open up the store I'm affraid of the fish getting too stressed out in the process of them acclimating the fish, me picking it up, and then acclimating it to my tank
