HMV 157 - The Talking Machine Forum — For All Antique Phonographs . . . The HMV 157 has an exponential tone chamber that's divided into two sections before joining at the mouth The larger HMV 163 was fitted with a four chamber horn--as were it's bigger brothers, such as the HMV 194 and 202--emulating the design of the Orthophonic Credenza's horn

HMV Model VIa Table Grand - Talking Machine HMV Model VIa Table Grand by nostalgia » Mon Oct 26, 2020 9:37 am I already have a HMV 109 and 103 table grand, that I have problems finding a space for in my house, and the 103 is already stored in my rented storage room for the time being, and because of it my desire to buy another HMV table grand has not been high on my wishing list

Its in all the catalogues after 1914 up to about 1922 when it was re-numbered The LBAO is the machine code, not the model number
HMV 201 - The Talking Machine Forum — For All Antique Phonographs . . . HMV 192 HMV 511 HMV 211 HMV 162 HMV 261 All 5 of these cabinet machines sound better (in my opinion) than the HMV 32 The HMV 32 handles most vocals fairly well, and it reveals musical content from acoustically recorded disks that I had never heard when these records were played on older, external horn Victors or pre-1925 Victrolas
HMV 163 - The Talking Machine Forum — For All Antique Phonographs . . . Comparing the HMV 163 to the Victor Credenza or 8-30, the two horns are the same length -- 6 feet, including the tonearm -- and both follow the same exponential curve, which means they both have a reproduction range of about 100-5,000 cycles per second

HMV v Columbia - The Talking Machine Forum — For All Antique . . . Re: HMV v Columbia by An Balores » Sat Jan 06, 2024 9:06 am Thank you both From what I can make out, the HMV 157 horn has a wider conduit and a bigger mouth than the Columbia version Might be because the tone arm of the HMV is a wider diameter than the Columbia, necessitating a wider horn conduit for it
