Hay Too Dry? - Hay Forage Forum I think grass hay that gets too dry doesn't go through a sweat so therefore has a different odor so therefore isn't as palatable so hay won't be as readily consumed by animals as hay baled at correct moisture content Maybe your grass is different Italian ryegrass here and subterranean clover
