Piston ring gap - Team Chevelle Rule of thumb for a naturally aspirated engine 0 004" gap per inch of bore so in your case you should shoot for 0 016-0 017" (4 155 x 0 004) ideally If your gap is 0 032" you probably don't have the correct rings for your 402 (4 125" + 0 030) Just my guess and the reason I always get file fit rings! torque converter flexplate gap - Team Camaro Tech feeler gauges or calipers measure the gap between the flexplate converter mounting pad and the torque converter mounting pad If gap distan ce is between 060” and 187” it is OK to bolt up the torque converter If the gap is greater than 187” install a 060” flat washer between the torque converter and flexplate 11
Jetting and Plug Gap - Team Chevelle I wouldn't bother with the gap change, 040" ensures a strong spark already Going too large can cause an intermittent spark If you didn't arrive at that jetting with AFR readings, I would jet back up to 77 85, and do the timing test to find best MPH To ensure you are not too lean with more timing Then go back to jetting

Also did measurement for TO bearing gap to clutch diaphragm fingers per Silver Sport instructions 1 8"-3 8" gap is spec I am measuring 1" gap (TO bearing completely collapsed) so a 3 4"-7 16" gets me 1 4"-1 8" spec I would think a longer TO bearing would be needed with a thin shim vs a 3 4" spacer if one exists
