  • Moving from Edward Jones to Fidelity - Pros Cons of Index funds
We currently have IRAs and 529s at Edward Jones, invested in an assortment of American Funds (as they tend to do there) Just found out how much they are going to charge us to move to their Guided Solutions plan, so we are looking to move to to Fidelity Now that I am paying more attention to expenses, I like the idea of ultra-low cost index funds However, as I compare index to managed funds

  • Experience with Edward Jones - Bogleheads. org
The only way high cost investments can net more for the investor is if the investor is put into higher risk investments If risk is the same, the higher cost transfers gains to the advisor or fund company, not the investor
  • I want to leave Edward Jones and go to Schwab - Bogleheads. org
Hello everyone! I want to leave Edward Jones and go to Schwab Am I correct to think that I will save money by doing so? Also, what are the pitfalls of leaving Edward Jones? I have quite a lot of Bridge Builder funds, which are proprietary to them I've also heard that it's hard to get your basis for all your stock holdings, once you leave What procedure should I follow? Help, thanks
  • Edward Jones or Vanguard? - Bogleheads. org
My mother-in-law has her retirement account with Edward Jones She is a very sweet and trusting woman, and she has little to no confidence in her ability to manage her investments She likes that with Edward Jones, she can sit across the table with someone who will tell her that everything is under control, and that they will do everything for her

  • Edward Jones Guided Solutions - Spouse is Employee
Edward Jones refuses to give this permission unless it is for some sort of service that they don't offer Answering no to that question would be my only way out of this predicament, but I don't want to lie on any forms if there's even the slightest chance my wife could get in trouble
  • Moving from Edward Jones to Vanguard - Bogleheads. org
That turkey in the picture reminds me of their clients investments At Vanguard you get the same turkey plus the giblets (index funds), stuffing (low expense fees) and gravy (outperformance of most managed funds)
