  • Using an All-In-One as an external display? : r Dell - Reddit
This is an Optiplex 7460 All-in-one computer with two HDMI (one has a little symbol by it) and a DisplayPort Trying to use this as an external monitor for a MacBook Pro (via the HDMI connection) but cannot get it to work Mac recognizes that it is plugged into an external display (I think) but the Dell does not change from its own windows computer screen I have tried playing with display
  • Dell Docking Station Detects Monitors, but Doesnt Display : r . . . - Reddit
I use a Dell docking station Basically, it will identify the 2 extra monitors I have plugged in (as seen above), but it won't display anything on the screen Typically, after a couple days, I'll turn my computer on and it'll "magically" work again As I've talked to IT and they have no clue, hoping that somebody in here could provide some insight
  • Dell SupportAssist - Worth paying for renewal? : r Dell - Reddit
Dell support assist is a program that can help identified driver updates, optimized storage, find and fix issues automatically It is free It's prompting you to purchase an extended warranty Completely separate concept Whether you decide to extend the manufacturer warranty is your call Dell support assist you will continue to have free use of either way
  • r Dell on Reddit: Getting back S3 sleep and disabling modern standby . . .
I was just tired of Dell and also Microsoft, both forcing you into Modern Standby, which never worked, doesnt work, and will not ever work reliable on Windows, compared to 100% working and reliable S3 (suspend to RAM) sleep
  • Dell Core Services preinstalled App : r Dell - Reddit
Hey there! Does anybody know what this "Dell Core Services" application is, that is preinstalled on newly Dell systems? (Latitude 5530 in this casebut but also saw it on Precisions) I think they started preinstalling this app when Dell switched from shipping the systems with Win 10 22H2 instead of 21H2, because older systems but same model did not had this preinstalled I cant'f find any
  • Slow charger warning with 100W charger, but not with a 90W charger : r Dell
Dell limits third party chargers to 90W on the USB-C port since USB-C doesn't support higher charge rates than 100W Only when a dell certified charger is plugged in, a special mode will be activated to allow 130W (which is not standardized in USB-C btw) Don't be worried about the slow charger warning tho
  • Uninstalling Dell Bloatware : r PowerShell - Reddit
This removes all Dell bloatware including the Fusion Service (prerequisite for Alienware Command Center) and the Windows Desktop Runtime (prerequisite for Dell SupportAssist), though its probably not necessary to remove Windows Desktop Runtime!
  • PSA: Delete Dell SupportAssist, or at least, disable it if you . . . - Reddit
Title says it all Dell fucked up my PC last night (bit of an older model, 17R2) by pushing out an update for supportassist that made my pc freeze up and test the fans (left, then right) like it would in the real fan test Basically, they fucked up something THEY made Guess what was causing it? Dell Data Vault (part of supportassist) and when I deleted supportassist? It magically fixed
  • Is it necessary to install SupportAssist? : r Dell - Reddit
But Dell customer service will almost always recommend SupportAssist According to my experience, SA takes up more space and RAM than Dell Update, and the probability of SA crashing is higher than Dell Update On my device, SA keeps crashing, especially when multiple tasks are running at the same time, whereas Dell Update never crashes
