Experiences of living in Dalkeith : r Edinburgh - Reddit I lived slap bang in the middle of Dalkeith for 8 years until last year Commuting is perfect - plenty of very regular buses that go all over Edinburgh and honestly as long as you don't stay in mayfield or woodburn the rest of it is totally fine It's got a lot of good food shops around it, a few decent restaurants and all the smaller amenities you want occasionally If you want to keep costs
