Beast Academy - DCUM Weblog Beast Academy post reply Forum Index » Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) 01 19 2025 22:04 Subject: Beast Academy quote Anonymous
IXL vs. Khan Academy vs. Beast Academy? - DCUM Weblog Beast Academy: This is a complete math curriculum with both a comic book style text and workbook It doesn’t really matter if you are reviewing material in it, as every chapter starts basic and gets very thoughtful and challenging It’s my favorite of the three, by far, for enrichment, but it almost requires a degree of parental involvement
RSM or AoPS -- which one? - DCUM Weblog The AoPS classes pretty closely follow the Beast Academy textbooks for 2nd-5th grade, and then the AoPS pre-Algebra and beyond for the other classes The kids do 1 hr 45 minute classes with teacher led instruction, problems, reinforcing activites, and so on, and then they get about an hour of homework each week
IXL vs. Khan Academy vs. Beast Academy? - DCUM Weblog So the ideal resource really depends on the topic and whether it's for deeper enrichment (Beast Academy), extra practice for fluency (Singapore math), or learning a new concept (? Khan video or Aleks, maybe)
Beast academy level - DCUM Weblog Beast Academy is a graphic novel that teaches math concepts and work books AoPS uses those materials but has a weekly class that is 1 hour 45 minutes long and there is homework that kids complete online
beast academy supplement- online vs books or both? We started doing the level 2 Beast Academy books (my daughter is a rising 2nd grader), but I've had to supplement the teaching in the book a good deal The lessons are fast paced and my daughter needs more hands-on examples (like using hundreds, tens, and ones blocks for larger number addition)
Beast Academy vs Khan Academy? - DCUM Weblog Beast Academy is really high quality and exactly addresses the need to challenge a math loving child without moving them so far ahead conceptually that they'll just be extra bored later on
Do any of your kids use beast academy? Would you recommend? It's basically taking concepts from a grade level, and then applying them to much more difficult problems So, for example, decimals are a big focus in 4th in public schools, and the 4th grade Beast Academy has more complicated decimal problems I would think that the 4th grade would be a good thing to try
Russian School of Math vs. AOPS - DCUM Weblog AoPS has "Beast Academy" for the earlier grades I only have experience with Beast Academy and AoPS (happy with both), but not with a comparison to RSM
