I-5 or Coastal Hwy 101? : r oregon - Reddit I recommend taking I-5 to about Corvallis, Oregon, from there, head West to get to Newport Waldport area and then take the coast down South I personally believe the Southern half of Oregon Coast is much more beautiful than the northern half, and taking the coast from here would eventually land you on the Redwoods and I recommend taking the slower route and exiting the 101 a little after
