Hello, We've been blessed with snow here in Park City Im using the Blackstrap balaclava--I like it ok on cold days--but when its snowing--its wet and frozen by the 2nd run Do any of the face coverings--balaclava or gaiter work any better? Thanks for your input!
Balaclava and Tube | SkiTalk | Ski reviews, Ski Selector I used to use a Polartec balaclava combo thing, thick around the neck and thin under the helmet but it wasn't long enough to really cover my face enough when I needed it
Venting in helmets | SkiTalk | Ski reviews, Ski Selector My old man wears a balaclava on uber cold VT days and that certainly keeps out the wind You are far more likely to get cold on a windy day from goggle gap and an ill-fitting helmet matched with the wrong goggles
PSA: That thing that covers your head and neck. . . I am a big fan of a thin balaclava that leaves the mouth free: it fits easily under a helmet and goggles and stays in place no matter what it keeps your ears and neck covered no matter what the covering over the side of your cheek neck below the ears, really helps cut wind chill you can always add awarmer hat, headband or neck gaiter if it's

how to keep goggles from sliding off front of helmet If you ski cold, get one with more warmth or with room for a thin balaclava When you buy your next goggles, look for some where the lens is as far away from your glasses as you find comfortable Take your helmet, and be sure the goggles fit the helmet and your face very well Those goggle clips are good, and there are a couple more brands out
zipperred ski jacket for helmet hood - SkiTalk I set up the hood for just my expedition weight balaclava plus goggles (sans helmet) beneath the hood and noted that allowed much freer movement and was an additional reason beyond being warmer for preferring to do so cold storm skiing versus the hood over helmet
WARMEST Womens Ski Mittens - SkiTalk The hard part is the inactivity on the chair vs moving Is she "sweaty hot" in her core? If not, upgrade her helmet balaclava and or add a down vest before mittens and boots The body pulls heat from hands and feet like a radiator to protect the head and core If the core is toasty, there is leftover body heat to send to the extremities
