IMO, the Alamo garrison should have withdrawn joined with Houston This would mean abandoning the townsfolk, the sick and wounded of the garrison (including its commander) to be executed, and all the artillery and ammunition Plus it would mean nothing would stand between Santa Anna's forces and the towns and farms in the interior
