Why do some native speakers say J instead of Y? - Reddit I have a native Spanish speaking tutor and his English is very good but he constantly mispronounces words in English with letters J or Y For example instead of saying “yes” he will say “Jess” or instead of “you” it sounds like “ju” The “y” sound exists in Spanish so I’m confused why he wouldn’t be able to pronounce this sound in English
