When presented the choice for the land to enter tapped or untapped you, unintuitively, need to select tapped There are 2 effects and what you are choosing is the one that happens first which then gets replaced by the untap of spelunking

Spelunking is a replacement effect, a land stating that it enters tapped is also a replacement effect (only if the land states it, it doesn't work for lands that would normally enter untapped but enter with an effect that says to put them into play tapped like Grazer) Because there are two replacement effects you get to choose one

I recently drove out to Laurel Caverns, about a 45 minute drive from Pittsburgh, and went Spelunking in the lower caverns It was epic I am interested in checking out some other caves, preferably ones you can go spelunking in Public caves are good, but private ones would also be interesting to know about
