Because the bcdboot command to copy the files is not working I thought maybe it is possible to copy them using Windows explorer I have tried to copy the C: Windows Boot folder to the 100MB FAT32 partition but when I do this Windows tells me the Boot folder is in use On my computer I have also a D: harddrive and it has a folder called Windows10

In variant 2, I think you should first disable the recovery partition using reagentc disable, then after bcdboot'ing re-add it to the newly-generated BCD config with reagentc enable again

I totally agree that using BCDBOOT is the most reliable way to add another Windows intallation to BCD Never had any problem with it and I've done at least 50 such multi boot installations
