- whats the best xcom as an introduction to the series? : r Xcom - Reddit
XCOM: Enemy Unknown is darker, grittier, uses modern weapons in a "you are humanity's last hope against an unknown and overwhelming alien horror" kind of feel Strategy and tactical approach between the games is different as well, and most players usually have a preference for one over the other
- Does anyone else save scum? : r XCOM2 - Reddit
I ditched XCOM 2 multiple times because it felt very unfair and not doable without save scum Play on the lowest difficulty its no shame, XCOM 2 doesn't care if you played other games If you reach the mid game you will see your troops starts getting overpowered (the enemy is overpowered right from the beginning)

Should I buy DLCs? It is recommended to get the full package with all DLCs War of the Chosen (WOTC) is technically a DLC, but it's more of an expansion, a separate version of the game WOTC makes the main story richer and adds new gameplay elements and performance improvements WOTC has a much larger selection of mods, and is not compatible with most mods made for original ("vanilla") XCOM 2

- Mod Manager in the 2k Launcher - any alternative? Is there . . . - Reddit
The 2k launcher is shit with previously loaded mods The only way to get it working properly is literally unload every mod you have, restart, then reload them all again The 2k launcher will detect and sort them properly on a fresh dl and work fine Big pain in the ass if you've got loads of mods, but the alternate launcher is the only choice available if unwilling to do otherwise
- What order should I play the games? : r Xcom - Reddit
XCOM Enemy Within with all optional missions enabled XCOM War of the Chosen with Integrated Content turned off and optional content (Alien Nest and Shen's Last Gift) turned on Chimera Squad Feel free to play each game several times to really get the feel for it before moving to the next one, possibly with escalating difficulty
- Is Xcom 3 ever going to happen? : r Xcom - Reddit
Xcom 2 is a competent enough game that it can satisfy my xcom cravings for years to come what cant be satisfied is my curiosity in exactly where the series was going, and thats something ill simply have to live with at this point i think the best we can hope for with xcom is that it gets yet another reboot in 10 years
