- Celestion Gold vs Weber Alnico Blue Dog vs Weber Alnico Silver Bell in . . .
It's supposed to be a higher wattage Blue, but I much prefer a Blue (more mids) The Weber Alnico Blue Dogs are a little thicker in the mid-range to lower-mids and I feel would be a better fit for the Black Cat FWIW: I typically prefer Alnico speakers in all my amps, but I recently picked up a Bad Cat Cub 15r with the Bad Cat V30
- Weber Silver Bell Alnico vs Scumback Alnico? - The Gear Page
I had the Weber Alnico Silver Bell a long time ago, more recently I had the newer (post-Weber non-PVC) Scumnico That Scumnico is super smooth and balanced For some applications, too much so Quite the opposite of the Silver Bell, which is a bit wild IMHO, more LO-FI qualities Between those speakers, the Weber alnico Blue Dog sits in between
- Jensen P10R Reissue or Weber 10A125? - The Gear Page
Weber's smooth cones are considerably stiffer than the old very thin smooth cones and make for a much warmer and less distorted speaker Also a variety of ribbed cones for a range of sounds Also all sound warmer than a true old Jensen or Rola, but I do like them One of their 10A100 series would be the match for a P10R, or the alnico signature 10
- Tweed Champ 8 speaker - Weber CVA8 or Alnico Sig?
If you want more of the classic sweetness of the Champ the CVA8 is the speaker for it If you're wanting Jazzy warmth and don't wander into the speaker breakup range, then the Sig might be the better choice I want to get a Weber Alnico Blue Pup 8 and try that with the Champ, as well as build a JMI AC4
- Review of Weber Mini Mass Attenuator - Telecaster Guitar Forum
The Weber takes care of both those issues The amp can be set to full Master and Volume with the Mini Mass set to a comfortable listening level Tone is nearly identical to a straight in connection I say nearly because speaker breakup is not happening at lower volume levels
- Weber mini-mass 50w attenuators, are they any good
I just use a passive vol box in FX loop , but I could get the power tubes singing if I used an attenuator, is the 50w mini mass any good or are there
- General Impressions of Weber 12F150 - Telecaster Guitar Forum
The Weber is a very bright and brash sounding speaker, which I was able to tame by rolling back the treble to 5-6, and boosting the bass a little I'm going to leave it in for a while, play a few gigs with it, see how it goes Right now I'm kind of thinking that the Jensen is the better speaker, more weight, bigger voice coil, etc
- Has Anyone Used The Weber California Speaker? - The Gear Page
I have a Weber California alnico 15" (paper cap) in one cab and a JBL D130 15" (aluminum) in the other, I think I prefer the Weber for most applications, it's a bit more open sounding, not quite as brittle hard to tell as neither is really broken in
