Valvoline Restore and Protect is designed to clean at a slower pace over regular oil change intervals to not clog the oil filter resulting in it bypassing, this is something that they had to keep in mind while coming up with this product as it is a "mainstream" off the shelf licensed product

This would be an interesting case - at what point does Valvoline Restore and Protect oxidize and start to overwhelm the deposit removing capability reducing its claim to fame Valvoline Restore and Protect is intended for OEM drain intervals 9k isn't too bad though I wouldn't go beyond 5K on any oil unless it's strictly highway use

Valvoline Restore and Protect is supposed to be designed to remove hard carbon piston deposits which are much hard to remove than sludge Varnish is a different animal but per one of their lead engineers, it can clean up any carbon in the engine It's designed to do it in a slow controlled

Valvoline Restore and Protect was released shortly after - I was initially interested, because the marketing targeted was exactly what I was looking for (Restore to Factory Clean and prevents build-up), so I gave it a try

The Valvoline Restore and Protect was the same price as AFE seems to have a higher HTHS but similar properties to AFE in most other (limited) respects that can be gleaned from a VOA There seems to be a slight possiblity that Valvoline Restore and Protect might prevent future problems that other oils would not

That Valvoline looks really stout! I'd like the oxidation to be a little higher and the pour point to be a little lower, but otherwise it looks great I personally think the Mobil 1 Extended Performance High Mileage is slightly better as a "high mileage" oil, in terms of it's seal conditioning and ability to slow seal leaks
