- Why are the ultramarines considered the greatest of them all?
The Ultramarines were for the most part entirely codex compliant, which granted them a level of prestige amongst a lot of other astartes chapters, mostly due to the dogma of the Imperium and of the Space Marines
- warhammer 40k - Why were the Ultramarines fighting Salamanders . . .
Towards the end, there are Ultramarines missing from a huge battle on Ultramar, I think the reasoning behind that was to let us know the traitor marines were actually Ultramarines in disguise So both the traitor marines and the loyalists are actually Ultramarines in disguise
- Why does this Ultramarine have red armour?
"In the ten millennia since the Battle of Calth, the Sergeants of the Ultramarines and several other Codex-compliant Chapters continue to paint their helmets red to signify the honour accorded to the Astartes who achieve this rank" - however this SM doesn't have a helmet, so maybe the rest of the armour was painted red to represent this? This is just a guess however
- What nationality are each of the legions meant to resemble?
There may be something, but I can only think of the warrior culture associated with each of them Dark Angels are the secretive robed type, Space Wolves are the barbaric rule breakers, Ultramarines are the dogmatic rule followers, blood angels are the vampiric bunch, Imperial Fists are the siege masters, Iron hands = cyborgs, etc
- Do the Ultramarines have Primaris Squads in their 1st Company?
1 I’m currently painting an army of Primaris Ultramarines and I’d like them to vaguely canonically accurate I know the 1st company is made up veterans, usually terminators Does the 1st company also contain Primaris squads or have they not been around long enough to earn veteran status?
- Have the Tau ever allied with Space Marines or Eldar?
6 The Tau also briefly allied with the Ultramarines on Dolumar IV during the events of Fire Warrior (both the game and novel) against Chaos
- What does this emblem mean? - Science Fiction Fantasy Stack Exchange
The others two have the Ultramarines emblem and Lieutenant Titus was more special, he had a skull with it In the battle scene we can see more clearly his logo was a cross with a skull in it
- When did Space Marines become more religious
Thanks for the answer, I knew about the Lectitio Divinitatus etc just seems like there was a point when it became openly acceptable for the Astartes to 'believe' I still wonder what Bjorn would think! I wonder if everyone is more careful around him!
