- TDS Reading acceptable? - Manhattan Reefs
TDS of 4 is not bad but thats when I usually plan on changing the DI resin Like mentioned above the storage tank could have 'collected' dust and other items that raised the TDS I'd also test the TDS before the DI resin, will let you know how well the filters are doing, higher numbers (10+) indicate time to think about replacing the filters
- TDS Meter Vs. Conductivity Meter - manhattanreefs. com
Conductivity sensors have a much higher resolution and are industry standard for measuring water quality on purified water systems In other words a tds meter can show 0 and the conductivity meter will still give you a reading That being said I don't think it's necessary to be concerned with levels of purity beyond 0 tds for a fish tank
- ro di tds 23ppm - manhattanreefs. com
After water goes through filters and membrane tds should be 95% removed Carbon removes chlorine, chlorine kills membranes, and most LI water is loaded with it

- Oops! We ran into some problems. - Manhattan Reefs
Reefs com Discussion - Need to reclaibrate my TDS monitor on my RO DI unit It is a HM Digital, DMI In-line Dual TDS meter Instruction booklet has no information, except "Calibrate with NaCl" The unit is approx 1 1 2 yrs old The unit use to read 000 ppm, now read 002 ppm and does not go
- Why would RO Di water with 0 TDS taste funny?
TDS is a measure of ionic content in water It does not measure organic contaminates such as alcohol, plastizers, and other non-ionic chemicals You can have a TDS conductivity measure of close to "0" (I am not going into that with some of you again  ), but the water can be loaded with contaminants
- 50 TDS ppm too high for makeup water? - manhattanreefs. com
The TDS reading really doesn't tell you much except that your water is soft Most of the dissolved solids in tap water are molecules you either don't care about (e g , sodium chloride) or are actually good (calcium carbonate)
