Hey everyone, I have this strange problem with my front sway bar If it’s on some rough terrain that requires even moderate flex, it snaps the bolt connecting the sway bar to the link I’ve replaced with factory bolts and the same thing happened Any suggestions are appreciated

Front Sway Bar Linkage My Jeep was quickly approaching 200K miles I knew it needed new suspension bushings as well as a bunch of other work The most obvious problem in this photo is that the original sway bar bushings were well past their prime Being a 1993 model it may have a different type

The sway bar will technically keep the tires planted a bit better on the ground You need to do some research on how a swaybar works if you think it has anything to do with braking It will help keep the inside tire planted while going around a corner It will not help keep the tires planted during hard braking :rtft:

A rear sway bar is a necessity in that case to make the front do more work I flirted with the idea of a rear sway and built a few prototypes that snapped immediately (but that’s on me more than a reflection of sway bars) before deciding to SAS and be done with it (may still need sway bars, but much easier to get the desired outcome)

The sway bar link itself is shot - broke right below the ball joint so I'm not worried about ruining the bushing as the whole like is going to be replaced I don't know anyone with a sawzall
