Based on the official article Exchange Online limits - Service Descriptions | Microsoft Docs a shared mailbox's storage limit is 50GB when unlicensed, so if both the primary mailbox and in-place archive exceed 50GB, then this may not be possible, unless you apply a license to get a extra storage for the shared mailbox

the default user storage (for all users) was already set months ago to 5 TB and is working for all other users This user had a quota of 2 TB set manually which I wanted to increase to 5 TB Unfortuantely it was not working and now it is even worse as he only has 1 TB The default storage for all of our users is still 5 TB, just not for this user
