The gal at Springfield said that any parts they send you can be replaced by the end user, i e they send nothing out that would interfere with "safety issues" I took this to mean that the recoil spring assembly replacement by the end user is NOT anything of concern as to voiding the warranty I did not however specifically ask her that either
