Which internet speed test is trusted and why is there such a variance between them? I used ookla, fast com, and google’s internet speed test which gave me the corresponding 160mbps, 250mbps, and 580 mbps I tested each website 5 times and the above recorded data is the average It was generally consistent These differences are crazy and I’m not sure which one to believe

I generally go for Speedtest net because that seems to be what most ISPs will use as reasonable proof of performance When you say 400Mbps are you wired or wireless? What's your plan supposed to be? What kind of internet?

Basically what the title says, i'm wondering how bad important or even how accurate ooklas speed test is for the download and upload latency; my idle latency is around 6-10ms but during the download test it shows the download latency anywhere between 300-500ms whilst the upload latency stays at a steady 9ms i'm on wired and get about 400mb down and 50mb up I'm not having any real issues that

Maybe speedtest was just overloaded at the time, or the unique pathway to it was congested, or they are capping free tests or whatever And fast com was not busy, or closer to you, or whatever Like all tests, the bigger and more varied the sample size, the closer you'll get to your true results
