1 Train to Sintra from Lisbon is a local suburban train like S-bahn or Chicago Metra or LIRR or NJT or VRE or Septa You can certainly buy ticket at station or put some funds on Navigate Occasional card and zap through BUT, why bother? Especially with the hassles of getting from Sintra train station to Pena Palace? JUT USE Bolt or Uber

Sintra is a beautiful city, very romantic Its palaces, castle and gardens make it unique To visit Sintra and all its palaces you need at least 2 days, but you can have the feeling of the city with just 1 day trip At night Sintra is asleep ;) Everything is closed after 7pm You will be better off sleeping in Lisbon I hope I've helped you Mafalda

I think Sintra is a really lovely place, especially or maybe particularly, if one enjoys walking a lot and do not mind hills We walked all throughout Sintra and didn't take any transportation other than to get to the town

Visiting Pena Palace, Moorish Castle, and Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra in one day is possible but can be a bit tiring Walking between them is an option, but it's a long walk, especially uphill to the Moorish Castle

We actually stayed 2 nights in Sintra, and if you could stay one night it would help with your concerns We did enjoy the Quinta de Reguleira gardens a lot Pena does have the stunning architecture outside We also liked the National palace which was right in the heart of the town

I just returned from a trip to Portugal this past weekend, and we did a day trip to Sintra The Pena Palace was amazing and definitely worth a visit The town is quaint and has lots of places to shop and eat I haven't visited Evora, but our trip to Sintra was a highlight
