- Any way to remove 100MPH speed limiter (Governor?) - GM Truck Club Forum
My 04 Silverado will ride up to and including 100MPH but it then stops increasing speed and slows down to about 80 90MPH before acceleration will resume Any way to remove this? The tachometer has no redline, and I'm sure the engine can do more than 100, is this for Governmental safety regulations, or does the truck itself not go faster than

I have a 2007 Silverado 1500 with the 5 3 (I believe) for reference My first thought was a bad battery or spark plugs I got the battery checked out, and that was fine I replaced the spark plugs, which helped for a couple of days, but now it seems to come and go as described in the original post Any help is appreciated Thanks
