- Moveable fins or canards for active stabilization?
The potential problem is someone uses it to deliver a "package" to some "destination" Not one of the hobby rocket fliers at a hobby rocket launch Geofencing won't prevent the former and might not be of much benefit to the latter A better approach than geofencing might be to provide primary and secondary landing zones
- Electronic Gyro Rocket Roll Stabilization System
If used as a finished product ready for installation in a rocket, custom made or industrial servo motors would be used, gyroscope and electronics would be made according to COTS or MIL-STD standards to be able to meet the requirements required of one such rocket system The control algorithm is in fact an electronic rolleron Which works

- On-Board Camera | Rocketry Forum - Model Rocketry Forums
I've flown lots of rockets with outboard video cameras (both down and up looking), and offer up the below as one method to fly a camera contained internal to a rocket airframe For this project I modified a BT-80 payload tube to internally contain a Go-Pro Hero3 (and another board-camera along with a video transmitter system)
- Seeking Insights on Water Rocket Fins Optimization
I'm guessing that your water rocket is something like a two liter soda bottle with lots of aft curvature, and structural challenges, that could well affect your optimal fin size and shape With a water rocket you could afford to make hundreds of flights and record altitude with a small barro-altimeter, until you get a statistically valid result
- ANNOUNCEMENT: OpenRocket 24. 12 beta 1 is now available for download
Here is a bug I've just recently noticed in 23 09 and which isn't fixed in the beta On a Mac, if dark mode is enabled, printing the design info places a dark background behind a portion of the graphic of the rocket in the generated PDF (as shown below using the included example model rocket file) View attachment 684543
- Download OpenRocket designs - Model Rocketry Forums
FWIW: The best way, IMO, is to start with one of the Open Rocket Examples, save it to your directory with a new name, and then start modifying it Measure the parts, weigh the parts and then input the data You'll start building a database of rocket simulations made by @Frausing and can start using those as your baselines
