I recently also had the problem with redeeming my points on Desktop "There was a problem with my account " After that I tried redeeming my points on the Rewards App on my Xbox and it worked perfectly fine! So try out using the Rewards App if you have the same problem

Create a bookmarks folder on Chrome called something like "Microsoft Rewards" Then bookmark in the correct folder the following searches "1", then "2" and so on until you reach 5 above the minimum required: for example, I only need 30 searches but do 35 searches (Sometimes the searches don't register so just in case)
