Does the account in question have local admin rights on the remote machine? (Since Domain Admin is for managing AD, not machines, it's common practice to remove local admin rights from them ) Have you tried specifying the username in the Kerberos UPN format as username@domain tld? Does access to the service manager via sc \\remotePc query work? And, have you considered WinRM via winrs -r

I encountered the same problem and finally found a solution Even though on the host computer my power plan was set to high performance (never sleep), when connecting via RDP using the same user account, the power plan was set to balanced I changed the power plan in the RDP session to high performance, and now I no longer have the host computer going to sleep when I disconnect

No, you are talking about the Remote Desktop Connection included in windows I'm talking about the Remote Desktop app you can download from Microsoft Store which is a completely different software (e g it does not work with rdp files)

Just chiming in to add that this is indeed a thing: With my machine (no monitor connected at all, exclusive RDP usage), it happens when sent it into sleep hibernate and then continuing work - laggy as hell I also had to set the Windows Setting for Power Saving to "Ultimate" (basically turning it off AFAIU) to properly work via RDP Maybe with such a plug as mentioned in the answer I could use
