If it’s day 5 , then 2 of those days are Saturday and Sunday ( so effectively don’t count ) so if the repair isn’t made today compensation is due , Openreach don’t like paying this , so if it’s possible to repair then they won’t be simply ignoring the problem, and making efforts to fix the issue, however some fixes take time , if a road closure, or traffic management were required

No there is no pre-installation option , but if you already have an overhead cable , Openreach FTTP service usually would follow the existing route, the same ( existing ) fixing bracket on your wall also used for the new optical cable , unless you have a chimney bracket or the existing fitting is now inaccessible … extra holes are unavoidable as Openreach use a ladder fixing system Tetra

There's been a major service outage in my area for over 3 weeks now There's a temporary fix in place - Broadband goes off every night and an engineer comes out between 8am and 9am every morning and resets something in the cabinet (takes 5-10 minutes) Last weekend it went off on Saturday afternoon

Openreach can install a new full fibre cable in but it will cost £6200 (of which BT will pay £3400) leaving us to pay £2800 This seems unreasonably high and Openreach on their website seem to suggest they do offer a free installation? We also were initially told by an openreach engineer that they could do an overhead connection

Quick update - I spoke to Openreach on facebook and they told me that its an old email so they've passed it on from there, hopefully Just incase anyone else gets stuck in an endless loop like i did, that's a kind of solution
