I purchased an S-8 40's model on e-bay a coupla years ago with white mother of pearl finish, Kluson tuners bone nut for about $220 missing the bridge A local luthier with ties to the lap steel community made me a brass bridge lowered the action slightly to give me the maximum output now its my favourite steel

He enjoys playing in a band where the players are allowed to strech out and the leader features their talents (paraphrased) All in all a very nice guy He did an excellent job on Dobro also --Whiskey Lullaby-- We were 8th row center and volume was about right, could have been even a bit louder
