Mage itself is not one of the easy classes to begin with tho Using "normal" weapons would mean you use left click - this is not really any viable choice at the beginning This is the so called "LCM" which requires quite a lot of coins and high cata level to really be of actual use

left click mage is a class that has versatility inside and outside of dungeons outside of dungeons, mage classes don't fare very well against left click melee players as their damage output is hindered by running out or being low on mana this can be fixed in a couple ways, getting more endgame

Pros: -efficient spells is useful -hybrid mage classes are harder to do (as you don't get cooldown reduction on abilities) -mage level matters more (as spell cooldowns are decreased more with a higher level) -duplicate mages make cooldowns slightly longer for each other, encouraging no duplicate mages
