A 40-minute drive from downtown Victoria via Highway 14, also known as the Pacific Marine Circle Route, leads you to beautiful Sooke, where you will find the museum with its lighthouse and information center, immediately past the Sooke River Bridge

Within the museum’s exhibit galleries, highlights of the region’s history and culture are presented through First Nations artifacts, historic photographs, dioramas, displays and scale models, depicting both momentous occasions and the day to day life in the history of the region

Sooke Region Museum’s Archives houses some 8,000 historic photographs, and more than 6,000 historical documents and a range of newspaper clippings Collections of colour photographs document local flora and scenery, from beaches, to the trees of the rainforest, to wildflowers
