All McIntosh equipment is built to last, but every year of use can make a difference, so I'd choose the one with the least amount of use age I actually like having a built-in DAC because it allows me to experiment and compare to any other DAC I might have in my system I believe that the MA7900 and MAC6700 have the same DAC which is very good
