- LDP vs RSVP - Cisco Learning Network
LDP is designed to be highly extensible, using TLV triplets to be able to transport multiple additional fields in the future and warrantee the compatibility with previous versions via ignoring the unknown new fields LDP is highly flexible, as supports local and remote neighbors (using targeted LDP sessions)
- CCIEv5 MPLS (LDP,vrf lite,MPLS VPN) Study Guide
OSPF LDP (LDP Autoconfig , MPLS LDP-IGP Synchronization) MPLS LDP Session Protection LDP Transport Address MPLS LDP Graceful Restart Feature VRF Lite (Multi-VRF CE) What is MPLS VPN Where MPLS LDP will be configured? How PE1 will recognize separate Different CE routes? Configuring vrf table and assign it to interface for IPv4 , IPv6
- Making sense of MP-BGP, LDP and IGP in an MPLS SP domain
- LDP is required to automatically signal the LSP's based on the best next-hops calculated by the underlying IGP by advertising labels (based on next hops) to directly connected LDP neighbors throughout the MPLS domain of the Service Provider LDP advertises labels for every prefix in the routing table It is not based on next-hop
- Why do we need (LDP session protection) feature?
Hi What i know about the MPLS (LDP Sesstion protection) feature is it`s used to keep the LIB as it is even there is a link failure between 2 LDP peers and that`s used for speed convergence in a hugh MPLS network that`s happened if we have one link is running LDP and the other alternative link is not running LDP if the LDP link fail then the 2 LDP peers are still form LDP TCP sesstion between
- MPLS LDP Neighbor relationship not working - Cisco Learning Network
LDP uses the IGP for reverse path forwarding to verify the LDP router ID This means that the LDP hello should be same interface that is used to route to the corresponding router-id Therefore the router-id needs to be advertised into the IGP (OSPF for your case) Do you have a topology at all? Are you able to test with EIGRP instead?
- what is the mechanism reflect RIB into LIB? - Cisco Learning Network
LDP creates a mapping between the IP address of a prefix and a corresponding MPLS label RIB to LIB Reflection: As new labels are assigned for the routes, the router reflects this information into the LIB
- VPLS fundamentals - Cisco Learning Network
The split horizon rule assures that traffic received from the network won't be sent back to the network Control plane To provide VPLS service over the MPLS enabled network, the control plane must setup the bidirectional tunnels (2 unidirectional LSPs) between the PE devices using some label distribution protocol like LDP
- Chapter 1 - Segment Routing - LDP + SR Island - Part X
IP-to-MPLS: LDP is preferred, but we can configure otherwise MPLS-to-MPLS: same protocol’s label is used, if available LDP and SR island; direction matters
