Is the word Jap offensive I'm curious, is the word "Jap" offensive? If so, when did it become offensive? I ask this question because of my question about the word "zhina" （支那） I‘m a Chinese, and I know that's exactly how foreigners pronounce China's name, and that was a pretty neutral word then
