  • plural forms - Information or Informations? - English Language Learners . . .
Information is a non-countable noun (you can't have 4 informations), so it is neither singular nor plural The correct usage is "information" without the 's'
  • nouns - Why cant we say informations? - English Language Usage . . .
"Give me all the informations you've got", even if it's wrong, sounds more beautiful to my non-native ear than "give me all the information you've got", and I don't know why Edit: This is not a duplicate question since I know that information is a mass noun; what I am asking is, why can't it be in plural like some other mass nouns can?
  • Why does information not have a plural form?
Informations is sometimes used in criminal legal contexts, referring to several pieces of (usually incriminating) information And it is also true that almost any mass noun can be used as a count noun -- and vice versa -- in one of several constructions with special uses and meanings
  • Is those information valid, or is it this information?
I have been teaching it as 'this information' for more than 20 years but just heard a British reporter on Bloomberg say 'these informations' and l had to look it up There are actually many examples of 'these information' online (and my autocorrect ironically wanted to change that to 'these informations'!!! Lol)
  • Provide information on, of or about something?
Which is grammatical: "it provides information on something", or, "it provides information of something", or, "it provides information about something"? Or if all are grammatical, which one is used
  • grammaticality - Which is correct: the below information or the . . .
As a preposition, "below" would be written after "information" as a stranded preposition While typically prepositions would precede the noun, stranded prepositions can occur "in interrogative or relative clauses, where the interrogative or relative pronoun that is the preposition's complement is moved to the start"
  • countability - Which question is grammatically correct? - English . . .
"Information" is uncountable (we would never say the plural "informations") so "many information" is not correct "Much information" or "a large amount of information" is better "Amount" seems to be one of those quirky English words that defies easy categorization Most often it is uncountable, even if plural:
  • nouns - Any information or some information - English Language . . .
I think that any or some are nearly synonymous in the context of question: Can I get some information about Can I get any information about
