When it does connect, the message is sent over one network, to an "Packet Interchange" server-room, where the message crosses-over to gateway it into Shaw's network, and is forwarded to Shaw's mail-server, on Shaw's network Logon to Shaw WebMail, and connect to Shaw's mail-server, to copy the message onto your computer

If "new" messages were being sent through other ISPs (Gmail, Hotmail, Telus) and Shaw's mail-servers are "down", then the protocol is for those "remote" mail-servers to "retry every XX minutes over YY days" before declaring "mail is permanently unavailable" So, customers of those ISPs must wait Thus, you don't see messages that (temporarily) could not be delivered to Shaw's mail-servers

@Axel69 -- within Shaw WebMail, move the mouse-pointer over one of the "folder" names on the left edge of the window, and let it "hover" there There should be a pop-up that displays the number of messages in that folder, and the total size (megabytes) of the messages in that folder Be sure to point to the "Trash" folder, and also the "Sent
