Flint is very rare, i have to go digging in old tree holes and quarries to even find one tiny piece But if you find a good piece of quarts or any other rock with a decent angle on the sides then it can be used to throw sparks from steel

the confusion comes when you talk about using your 5160 to strike a flint this is commonly called a striker in this case the sparks are made by pieces of the steel chipping off and sparking after being struck with a flint or chert in your case, the 5160 needs to be struck on a hard and sharp enough surface to shave off sparks
