- Makita vs. Festool - JLC-Online Forums
The biggest deal for me is that the Festool has an anti-splinter on both sides - the left is on the track and the right is optionally added to the saw The Festool 1010 router comes with the pieces to work on the track and the extra dust collection stuff If you want a similar but cheaper alternative to the Festool 1400 router, it is the Dewalt
- festool lr32 - JLC-Online Forums
Festool on the otherhand assumes two things 1 the user has an intimate knowledge of how the 32mm system works 2 It would appear (to my mind) that Festool work on an assumption that cabinet sheets are 16mm thick Whereas English and North American carpenters are more used to 18mm or 3 4 inch sheet thicknesses

- Festool vs. Fein vac - JLC-Online Forums
Festool and Fein hoses all plug into the Fein Vacs Big stuff gets vacuumed up best with the 2 25" hose, general use and Fein power floor unit with the 1 25" hose This also works well with Kapex and track saw and most Bosch stuff with a dust port, like the concrete grinder
- Have you had any experience using festool routing aid OF-FH (495246 . . .
Re: Have you had any experience using festool routing aid OF-FH (495246) horizontally I've installed a few hundred concealed closers and never used a 'sliding' jig maybe I should have but working on the top edge of a door, with very little meat left on the face of the door (as Dave said!), made me too anxious
- Mortise Locks The Festool 2200 Router + Plexiglass Jig
Re: Mortise Locks amp; The Festool 2200 Router + Plexiglass Jig I have both the standard and the large Trend lock jigs and they work well There are two issues though, firstly I often have to drill out the last 3 8in or so of the lock mortise depth (because the long pocket-type router cutters still won't quite get there) and secondly I don't
- Sanding discs for Festool Rotex 125- Recommendations?
Re: Sanding discs for Festool Rotex 125- Recommendations? Haven't seen any non-Festool disks with the right hole pattern, and it's self-defeating to use disks with the wrong pattern, since you won't get the benefits of the dust extraction As said above, the prices are pretty comparable to decent non-Festool disks for other sanders
- festool midi mini and a miter saw? - JLC-Online Forums
Festool recently changed the motors in the Mini and Midi, and now all of their vacs use the same motor and hence have the same suction- the only difference is the bag capacity If you're using a miter saw, you'll want to use the 36mm hose to maximize collection, regardless of which dust extractor you choose
