I attempted to create another image using an official RetroPie build (with Buster OS 4 8), making sure to download Basilisk II and MinivMac and adding the appropriate files to the BIOS, macintosh roms, and macintosh config folders

There is currently no way to switch between the Mac OS X and Basilisk II display, but Apple-Option-Escape instantly and safely terminates the Basilisk II program

I got this help from the Wiki on "Basilisk II preferences on OSX and Unix" edited by Giancarlo Mariot on GitHub, which is informative and helpful From there I learned that setting "modelid" to 14 allows you to run OS8

Okay, so I didn't end up installing RetroPie yet because it looks like a lot of work, but I did get a working Basilisk II configuration with Mac OS 8 0 on my MacBook

Once you have a working disk image large enough to install other software on, you can access other install disk images from the "Unix" icon on the Mac desktop which can access the file system of the Raspberry Pi

From what I can tell, there should be no need download and compile the Basilisk program into RetroPie, it is already included in the version 3 4 you said you’re using

I’d like to eventually see BasiliskII (and possibly MinivMac, an alternate Macintosh emulator that emulates even older hardware) included in the RetroPie-Setup script
