I tried for ages to get FCO to work It has nothing to do with Vortex I downloaded the patches, read the guides, installed the older version (as per the guide) and installed the 3rd party patches to go with it, and I NEVER got it fully working I always ended up with some raiders running around with Red Exclamations I finally just gave up and went with Fallout Redesigned 2, I couldn't get

I don't know how to mod but I actually use Relationship Dialogue Overhaul rather than FCO, and that has followers often addressing your character as "friend " I generally find RDO the better of the two anyway, since it also, very effectively, eliminates excessive repetition, and the follower commentary is quite location-sensitive
