Duolingo doesn’t explain when the correct or incorrect context is to use dydd before the day Image is a good example To begin with I thought if you’re just saying the day you’d say “dydd Sadwrn”, but if it’s Saturday night you’d use “Nos Sadwrn”, okay But then with Sunday it’s “bore dydd Sul” and not “bore Sul”

Dydd mis Mawrth derives from the Latin word for the God planet Mars (Mars), same as the month March in English In Romance languages (which Welsh is obviously not, but it does have influence from Latin), the word for March and Tuesday have the same origin, eg
