Your best bet would be to drop back to Windows XP Note also that the restrictions you observe were introduced to make Windows more robust against virus attacks, not to annoy users

To make the matter worst, today I installed WinX DVD ripper again and landed up with the same situation Then after many try I didn't get my DVD drive back So as a last resort, I went back to restore point "2 Days old" But still couldn't see the drive back But once I ran "Windows auto update and got KB2267602 installed, the DVD started appearing in the drive
